The box that almost wasn’t
This is the first all leather exterior box I’d created. It didn’t start out as leather at all. I can’t remember now what I put on it; but, it just wan’t right, so I ripped it all off and resurfaced the substrate. I had put the blue aside for the inside and loved it so much decided to use it on the outside. It so rich and soft. Although I tend to shy away from the brighter gold nailheads, I’m glad I used them here (they are actually antique gold; but, against the blue they really pop). The Fortuny interior was literally scraps that barely covered all the surfaces - what a surprise you get when its opened!
