once upon a time…..
No, this is not a real tortoiseshell.
and, sorry,No, I’m not making any of this box - it was an antique, in bad condition, that I refinished in faux tortoiseshell.
however
it continues to inspire me and, now that i’m without a woodshop, i’ve decided to experiment with new media. to try and recreate this little gem by other means.it is, admittedly, trial and error, but im liking the results so far:
